THE FOUNDING INSIGHT
Zapata Legal was founded on a straightforward observation: the companies that need serious legal counsel the most are often the ones who assume it is not available to them. First-time founders, family businesses professionalizing for the next generation, import and export operators, international companies entering Mexico: all of them encounter the same gap between the legal advice they need and the firms that feel built for their size and stage.

THE FIRM
Hugo Hernán Zapata Rodríguez
Hugo founded Zapata Legal after a career spanning international IP boutiques, technology law, and academic practice. He has advised on trademark prosecution before IMPI, cross-border transactions between Mexican and foreign counterparties, and intellectual property strategy for companies operating across multiple jurisdictions.
He currently serves as legal counsel at NIC México, the registry administrator for the .mx country-code domain.
Zapata Legal operates from Monterrey, Mexico, with the capacity to advise clients across Mexico and in cross-border matters involving the United States, Asia, and Latin America.
